Not only did she graduate from an HBCU, but hailing from the best school in the SWAC, Jackson State University — Mississippi’s Urban University — this is definitely a must tell all. Yes guys, we have yet another JSU Alumni Star on the road to major.com success! Ashlei Murray, who without a doubt has a promising career in the creative arts industry including theatre and acting, has auditioned for MTV’s “Awkward” television series.
“Awkward” is an American teen comedy series created by Lauren Lungerich for MTV. The show’s story centers around character, Jenna Hamilton who struggles with her identity, especially after an accident is misconstrued as a suicide attempt.
And so….. the producers + directors gave fans an amazing opportunity to guest appear on their show! Although I do not know Ashlei well, after seeing her video via instagram, I immediately wanted to help her out. Coming from someone who studied film/television casting + producing, I concluded her video to be authentically convincing, crafty and clever — showing plenty of personality. And as MTV says, we have the power in our hands!
